Exports in Order: Your Excel Exports Now Follow Your Field Order 📊
You ordered your fields with care, then the Excel export laid them out in the order they were created, with that last-minute field stuck at the far end. Not anymore: in the People, Exhibitor and Session Excel exports, the custom field columns now follow the order you set in Studio, so the file is ready for analysis, reporting or your next tool the moment it downloads.
How it works
- In Studio, open the settings for People, Exhibitors or Sessions and arrange your custom fields. For People, that's People settings → Custom fields, the same order your registration form uses.
- Export to Excel as usual.
- Your custom field columns come out in exactly that order. Reorder the fields in the settings, and the next export follows.
It works on every event, including events created from a template, so one standardised setup gives you the same export structure across all your events.
Good to know
- Scripts and macros: the new order applies to every export, past events included. If a macro, script or BI import relies on column positions, check it after the update.
- Standard columns stay put: built-in columns (for People: registration ID, check-in date…) keep their current position. Only the custom field columns move.
- Re-import still works: Excel imports read column headers, not positions, so you can re-import an exported file as before.
